About

We relocated to Austin, Texas in 1997, exactly 25+ years ago, with my husband and our 4 daughters (pictured above). We raised our daughters on a variety of food and I’m proud to say that they are all pretty much foodies, just like Mom & Dad!

When we first moved to Austin in 1997, it was a pretty quiet town back then. Downtown was dead during the day, as well as at night in most parts of the city. It was still a loud college town, after all even back then, I think UT Austin, was the most attended college in the USA. Austin had plenty of bars, but very few fine restaurants. After-all, most college kids can’t afford to eat at an expensive restaurant.

I have watched Austin grow into one of the best cities to visit and now live in Texas. No one knew 25 years ago where the heck Austin was in Texas, but what they did know is that it was somewhere between Dallas and Houston. It really was at one point, Texas’ best-kept secret.

Here we are in 2025, and as Austin grows it’s hard to keep up with the growing number of restaurants too!  They come and go so quickly! So my mission is to keep you updated on as many restaurants as possible and give you my AAA (Alright, alright, alright) rating.

The photo above of our daughters was taken in Maui, HI, the last time our 4 daughters were together in 2018.   The photo below was taken at one of our favorite places to eat, Amanda and John Carsey’s house, sorry folks private invitation only.  Best dam BBQ and Caesar salad in ATX!
